Ball Shaping Machine
The organic fertilizer round polishing machine designed on the basis of flat die extrusion granulator machine. Polish the cylindrical pellets made by flat die extrusion granulator machine to ball shape granules one time; No need polish again
DETAILS
As a key piece of equipment for granule shaping and polishing, the ball shaping plays an indispensable role across various industries, including organic fertilizer, compound fertilizer, animal feed, and chemicals. By utilizing the physical principles of centrifugal rolling and frictional shaping, it transforms irregular granules into smooth, spherical ones, thereby significantly enhancing the product’s appearance and commercial value.
Working Principle of the Ball Shaping Machine
Material is fed into the multi-stage spheronizing cylinder, where a rotating disc driven by the main shaft causes the granules to tumble continuously, rubbing and pressing against one another. The sharp edges and corners of the cylindrical granules are gradually worn down and smoothed, causing them to take on a spherical shape through continuous rolling; the inner wall of the cylinder is fitted with anti-stick, wear-resistant liners to minimize material adhesion and accumulation. A small amount of substandard fines and powder is separated out and recirculated to the granulation stage, while qualified, spherical granules are continuously discharged from the outlet.
The entire process requires no significant addition of binders, relying instead on inter-particle friction to achieve the desired shape. Compared to separate pellet-rounding processes, this method offers lower overall energy consumption, making it highly suitable for processing organic raw materials such as livestock manure-based organic fertilizer and decomposed straw-based organic fertilizer.
What are the primary applications for ball shaping machines?
Integration into complete production lines for large and medium-sized organic fertilizer plants;
Granule shaping for bio-organic and microbial fertilizer processing projects;
Production of organic-inorganic compound fertilizers and humic acid fertilizers;
Complete processing systems for the resource recovery and treatment of livestock and poultry manure;
Upgrading and retrofitting of existing fertilizer production lines to improve the appearance of finished granules.
What are the key advantages of the ball shaping machine?
Consistent spheronization results that enhance product value
Spheronized granules achieve a sphericity of over 95% with smooth, uniform surfaces and increased structural strength, significantly reducing breakage rates during storage and long-distance transport. These attractive, rounded granules are more competitive in the agricultural inputs market, allowing many organic fertilizer manufacturers to command higher prices for their finished products.
Compatibility with various granulation systems
The equipment is not limited to a single granulation method; it can be paired with flat-die extrusion granulators or integrated with irregular granules produced by disc granulators. It can be flexibly installed in both new production lines and existing facilities undergoing technical upgrades, without requiring major changes to the original process flow.
Low energy consumption and simple maintenance
The machine features a streamlined mechanical structure with few potential failure points. Wear-resistant parts have a long service life, and routine maintenance is limited to periodically clearing material buildup from the drum and checking the drive system’s lubrication. Compared to multi-stage granulation processes, using a spheronizer effectively reduces the power consumption associated with repeated granulation.
Wide range of processable materials
It can process organic fertilizer granules made from livestock manure (chicken, cattle, sheep), decomposed straw, sludge-based organic fertilizer, and humic acid. It is also suitable for shaping organic-inorganic compound fertilizers and bio-fertilizer granules, and—under certain conditions—can be used to polish small feed pellets.
Amidst the increasingly fierce competition in the organic fertilizer industry, the visual appearance of granules and the stability of the finished product have become key criteria for buyers. A ball shaping machine (rounding machine) enhances the product’s aesthetic quality with a relatively controlled investment, bridging the critical gap between raw material processing and the production of marketable fertilizer.
