As a core forming equipment in NPK fertilizer production, the rotary drum granulator is widely used in various production scenarios due to its advantages of large capacity and uniform granulation. However, it operates under high load and dusty conditions for extended periods. Proper operation and scientific maintenance not only ensure production safety but also improve product quality and extend equipment lifespan. The following are key precautions during use.
Pre-start inspection is a prerequisite for safe operation. Thoroughly clean debris from the drum, preventing foreign objects such as iron blocks and wood from entering and damaging equipment components. Check the tightness of all components, paying particular attention to the bolts on the support rollers, thrust rollers, and base, and ensuring the transmission components are intact. Additionally, confirm the lubrication system is functioning correctly, adding lubricating oil as required. The reducer should be pre-lubricated with gear oil to ensure sufficient lubrication of all friction surfaces, preventing dry friction and increased wear.
Monitoring during operation is crucial for quality and safety. Feed material at a uniform speed, controlling the material moisture content between 18% and 25%. Excessive moisture content leads to clumping and sticking to the walls, while insufficient moisture prevents pellet formation. Closely monitor the equipment’s operating status. If the cylinder deviates from its designated position, exhibits abnormal vibration, or makes unusual noises, immediately stop the machine for troubleshooting to prevent the fault from escalating. Simultaneously, strictly control the motor load and equipment temperature; bearing temperature must not exceed 50℃. Address any abnormalities promptly and never operate the equipment under overload conditions.
Post-shutdown maintenance is crucial for extending equipment lifespan. Before shutdown, thoroughly drain all material from the cylinder to prevent it from adhering to the inner wall, preparing for the next startup. Clean any residual material from the equipment surface and interior, inspect easily worn parts for wear, and replace damaged parts promptly. Regularly lubricate and maintain the equipment, changing the lubricating oil as scheduled, and keep maintenance records to ensure the equipment is in good condition.
Adhere strictly to safety operating procedures at all times. During operation, never crawl under the equipment, perform internal inspections, or remove protective devices. Wear insulated gloves when touching electrical components and ensure the equipment is properly grounded. Maintenance operations must be performed only after the machine has been shut down and power disconnected. Take necessary safety precautions to prevent materials from falling or accidental restarts that could cause injury.
By following the above precautions, safety accidents can be prevented, granulation efficiency and product quality can be guaranteed, and the rotary drum granulator can operate stably and effectively, thus ensuring smooth production.
