In a fertilizer production line, the cage crusher, with its high-efficiency crushing capacity, is a key piece of equipment connecting raw material pretreatment and subsequent granulation processes. Its stable operation directly determines the particle size and quality of the finished fertilizer product.
After the raw materials enter the production line, they are conveyed to the feed inlet of the cage crusher. At this time, the equipment’s feed adjustment device precisely controls the feed speed based on the raw material’s moisture content (usually controlled within 15%) and degree of agglomeration, avoiding equipment overload due to raw material accumulation. For common fibrous raw materials in organic fertilizer production lines, such as livestock and poultry manure and straw, or for compound fertilizer production, such as phosphate rock powder and urea granules, the feeding system can achieve uniform material distribution, laying the foundation for subsequent crushing.
The crushing operation is the core of the cage crusher. The two sets of high-speed rotating cages inside the equipment (usually with a speed of 800-1200 r/min) are key components. The wear-resistant steel bars evenly distributed on the cages form the “crushing chamber.” When raw materials enter the crushing chamber, two sets of cages rotate in opposite directions, generating intense impact, shearing, and collision effects: large pieces of raw material are first crushed by the impact of high-speed steel bars, and then further sheared into fine particles by the relative motion of the two sets of cages. Simultaneously, the screen at the bottom of the equipment grades the raw materials according to the fertilizer’s finished product requirements (usually 1-3mm particle size). Qualified particles pass through the screen and enter the next process, while substandard coarse particles remain in the crushing chamber for further secondary crushing, ensuring crushing efficiency and particle size uniformity.
In addition, the cage crusher is equipped with a complete set of auxiliary systems to ensure smooth operation. The cooling system uses air or water cooling to prevent the heat generated by high-speed operation from causing raw material agglomeration; the dust removal device collects dust generated during the crushing process, meeting environmental protection requirements and recycling raw materials to reduce waste.
In the entire fertilizer production line, the cage crusher acts like a “fine processing workshop,” transforming various raw materials into uniform particles that meet granulation requirements, providing high-quality raw materials for subsequent mixing, granulation, and drying processes, ultimately contributing to the production of efficient and high-quality fertilizer products.
